Children’s Day Celebration Quotes And Ideas

-

Children are our sunshine at the end of a dark tunnel. No matter how hard of a day we face, they lift our moods with their cute and caring ways. Children are just meant to be adored. They are curious little creatures who won’t stop questioning every little thing they find intriguing and trust me, they find everything fascinating. But this is the beauty of their brain, they see wonders in even the little things. There is a lot to learn from them and their curiosity.

To celebrate children, an official children’s day is celebrated across the globe. Although the date carries from country to country, the first children’s day was celebrated in 1925 in Geneva . It was celebrated first time during the World Conference on Child Welfare. While children’s day is officially celebrated on 20th November, It is celebrated on the second Sunday of June in the USA.

Why Is Children’s Day Celebrated?

Children’s day is celebrated keeping the theme in mind that every child is important. It focuses on the inclusion of every child. It states the importance of recognizing children as equal. It does not matter what ethnicity or nationality they have, children should have equal rights no matter which province, state, or country they live in. This day is important to raise awareness of the welfare of every child.

What Is The Colour Of Children’s Day?

Children’s day is commemorated by wearing the color blue. Blue is the color that marks the anniversary of the day when the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) was globally adopted. When this happened, the UNICEF governor’s house turned blue to mark the importance of the day.

Basic Rights Of Children

The celebrations of children’s day force us to think about the basic rights of all children and if we are fulfilling or not. Some of these basic rights are:

  • Right to be allowed to live.
  • Right to basic education.
  • Right to be not exploited.
  • Right to be protected from a dangerous environment.
  • Right to be protected from physical and emotional abuse.
  • Right to basic necessities and facilitations.

Celebrating Children’s Day Poems

Don’t hate me for who I am.
Don’t hit me or shove me around,
Don’t make me beg for alms today,
Don’t kick my blossoming dreams to ground.
Don’t stick me to walls with the MISSING sign,
Don’t nip me in the bud for your gains,
Don’t rape me. Don’t kill me.
Don’t trick me into living with so many pains.
Don’t treat me like dirt and without respect,
Don’t cheat me and abuse my innocence,
Don’t light my unexplored land on fire,
Don’t teach me to see with shallow offense.
Don’t stop me from being a hero tomorrow,
Don’t crop out my talents for a petty win,
Don’t preach to me the song of faith,
Don’t leech from me since that’s a sin.
Don’t hide me from the truth that you fear,
Don’t ride me as a vehicle of glee,
Don’t chide me for your mistakes and faults,
Don’t side me away into dark debris.

We are your hope. We are your future.
We are the ones who will change your fate.
We are everything but without your help,
We, the children, have no day to celebrate.

Children’s Day

When to the garden of untroubled thought
I came of late, and saw the open door,
And wished again to enter, and explore
The sweet, wild ways with stainless bloom inwrought,
And bowers of innocence with beauty fraught,
It seemed some purer voice must speak before
I dared to tread that garden loved of yore,
That Eden lost unknown and found unsought.

Then just within the gate I saw a child, —
A stranger-child, yet to my heart most dear;
He held his hands to me, and softly smiled
With eyes that knew no shade of sin or fear:
“Come in,” he said, “and play awhile with me;”
“I am the little child you used to be.”

A Child in the Garden

Most every night when they’re in bed,
And both their little prayers have said,
They shout for me to come upstairs
And tell them tales of gypsies bold,
And eagles with the claws that hold
A baby’s weight, and fairy sprites
That roam the woods on starry nights.

And I must illustrate these tales,
Must imitate the northern gales
That toss the native man’s canoe,
And show the way he paddles, too.
If in the story comes a bear,
I have to pause and sniff the air
And show the way he climbs the trees
To steal the honey from the bees.

And then I buzz like angry bees
And sting him on his nose and knees
And howl in pain, till mother cries:
“That pair will never shut their eyes,
While all that noise up there you make;
You’re simply keeping them awake.”
And then they whisper: “Just one more,”
And once again I’m forced to roar.

New stories every night they ask.
And that is not an easy task;
I have to be so many things,
The frog that croaks, the lark that sings,
The cunning fox, the frightened hen;
But just last night they stumped me, when
They wanted me to twist and squirm
And imitate an angle worm.

At last they tumble off to sleep,
And softly from their room I creep
And brush and comb the shock of hair
I tossed about to be a bear.
Then mother says: “Well, I should say
You’re just as much a child as they.”
But you can bet I’ll not resign
That story telling job of mine

Story Telling

Edgar Guest

Let kids be kids; just let them be
Princesses, pirates; let the bath be the sea!

Let them stare at the sky and find animals in the clouds.
Let them dance in the rain and sing out loud.

Let them dream really big and wish upon a star.
Let them feel the wind in their hair from the window of a car.

Smell their dandelion bouquet like it’s your favorite flower,
For they will grow up in what seems like just an hour.

Tell them bedtime stories each and every night.
Let them sleep in the middle when they awake with fright.

Shield them from evil and keep them from danger,
But teach them of acts of kindness for complete strangers.

Don’t hurry them, overschedule them, and make them feel lost,
For if this happens it will be you who will pay the cost!

Let them build castles, do cartwheels, and find shells in the sand.
If they need a little help, then please give them a hand!

Let them walk barefoot and the grass tickle their feet,
For it’s the small things in life that will make them feel complete!

Let them make couch cushion forts and sleep in a tent,
For this is the way childhood was meant to be spent!

Let them bring you breakfast in bed, let them burn your toast.
Someday it will be times like this you will miss the most.

Teach them how to serve others and be a good friend.
If you teach all these things, their love will have no end.

Teach them in life, not everyone will win.
And when they lose they need to accept with a grin.

It’s not about the money you have and the things you have bought.
Life is all about lessons that parents have taught!

So let kids be kids, just let them be.
And our world will be a better place for you and for me!

Let Kids Be Kids

Jennifer Caldwell

My childhood was fun,
Tough and exciting,
My childhood was one,
Where there wasn’t much fighting,
This is my childhood,
My childhood was filled,
With family and friend,
My childhood was filled,
With love and lots of happy holidays,

My childhood was filled,
With tricycles and bicycles,
My childhood is filled,
With lots of classwork and homework,
My childhood is filled,
With parents that don’t work,
A annoying loving brother and sister’s,
This is my childhood,
My childhood is filled,
With a grandmother that was caring and loving,
When I left her,

I was hurt,
But it’s for the best,
I remember the good and happy times,
We shared together,
This was my loving childhood,
That I will not forget,
This was my childhood.

My Childhood
