Inspiring Quotes From Anne With An E

-

Anne With An E is a Canadian show based on the literature of Anne of Green Gables. It was a classic children’s story written by L. M. Montgomery. The work was first published in 1908! The show is directed by Moira Walley-Beckett and we can see Lucas Jade Zumann, Geraldine James, Dalila Bela, R. H. Thomson, and Amybeth McNulty.

As for the plot, we follow the life of Anne Shirley. Anne was just a baby when she lost her parents and for 13 years she is tossed from one house to another until she ends up in Green Gables. Anne has many great adventures at Green Gables while she fights her way to get accepted.

Anne with an E is a breath of air in this traumatized world. It brings out the inner child in you and makes you believe that it is good everywhere, irrespective of the conditions. Indulge in these uplifting quotes and take a break from your hectic routine.

The Plot

The show opens when an orphan, Anne, is sent from an orphanage to stay with a family at Green Gables, The Cuthberts. The Cuthberts had asked for a boy so that he could help them around the farm. Meeting Anne turns into a disappointment for Marilla Cuthbert but her brother Matthew develops a bond with the girl. He absolutely adores her and her wild ideas.

On the other hand, Anne is a fiery red-haired girl whose thoughts and ideas are ridicule to the times. She has an imaginative mind and sees women as something more than just household items. This idea was very normal dating back to the start of the 19th century. Women were confined to their houses and didn’t have much career options.

However, throughout the flashbacks of Anne’s life that we see in the season, we can see that Anne is a feminist who has never had it esy. Despite all the hurdles in her way Anne never gave up and achieves almost anything she set her mind to, irrespective of the consequences. This series is a must watch if you want to learn a life lesson or two!

What’s The Point?

Anne with an E deals with multiple issues that are still present in our society. Racism, sexuality issues, sexism, and bullying are just some common highlights that have been addressed in this show. Throughout the series, we can see Ann speak out for the rights of those mistreated because she herself knows what it is like to be at the receiving end. Throughout the different orphanages that Anne had to live in before coming to Green Gables, she was mentally and physically abused, and bullied by girls who thought were her friend. Anne was used as just a household help in whatever house she was sent to. But Anne never gave up. Instead, she spoke out in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear.
